Threat to marry 3-year-old girl: Distressed father pleads for help

MIRPURKHAS: A father has pleaded for help, as a local influential man has demanded him to marry his three-year-old daughter to his son, threatening to kill her otherwise. Addressing a press conference at the National Press Club here on Sunday Rahib Shar, resident of village Aatna Mori, taluka Sindhri has accused that one Abdul Rahim Shar of threatening to kidnap and kill his three-year-old daughter Saleemat if he did not marry her to his son. The father of the girl said that he had asked Rahim to wait till his daughter reaches the age of maturity, but instead he was threatened with dire consequences. Rahib Shar said he had submitted applications to the Mirpurkhas DPO and the Mirpurkhas district and sessions judge. But despite the directives of the DPO and orders of the sessions judge to register a case against the accused, the Phuladyyoon SHO was hesitant to take any action and not providing him protection, he accused.
